What to expect

Recovering from musculoskeletal injury, dysfunction and pain can often be
a frustrating journey. Consistency and progression can often be hindered
by differing opinions, diagnoses and treatments from different
practitioners using different treatment modalities.

Your journey from injury, surgery or investigation to optimum
musculoskeletal function should be seamless, with a consistent and
progressive plan of treatment that takes your whole being into
consideration, not just the injured body part.

The concept of INTEGRATED FITNESS tailors evidence based treatment and
exercise to the individual?s lifestyle and goals, taking into
consideration influencial factors such as nutrition, daily movement
patterns and stress levels. This bespoke approach allows us to move beyond
generic injury rehabilitation protocols and achieve better results in the
shortest time possible.

Consultation- We will start with a thorough case history, which
will give me an insight into any contributing factors affecting your
musculoskeletal health.

* Physical assessment- This will give me the opportunity to observe
any restrictions in your active, passive and functional movement and come
to a working diagnosis.

* Passive treatment- Depending on the diagnosis I will use a variety
of soft tissue massage, joint mobilisations and manipulations to assess
the quality and quantity of movement.

Active treatment- These techniques and mobilisations will be
assisted by your movement and effort, providing a more functional approach
to treatment.

* Exercise therapy- Specific isolated and integrated exercises will
strengthen weakened muscles and incorporate them into your movement
patterns, restoring function and balance to the injured body part.

feed your body and when it comes to injury repair there are certain
nutrients which are essential to promote tissue repair and growth.
Creating a favourable balance of both macro and micronutrients will aid
recovery form injury.

Stress management- Using simple mindfulness meditation drills and
EFT (emotional freedom techniques) you can learn how to reduce and control
sympathetic nervous system activity (fight or flight) which has a
significant influence over your mood, energy levels, eating habits,
physical repair and growth.
